The Process

Step 1 - Let's Get Started - Contact us here and let us know that you are ready. Let us know what time constraints you have for upcoming trips and what your availability is for training. We will contact you right away to get you started on your adventure.

Step 2 - Logistics - Pick up the books from us. We will come to you and explain the process and set up a schedule for your training that works around YOU and no one else.

Step 3 - Story Time - You read the book and do the KnowledgeReviews at the end of each Chapter.

Step 4 - Class is in Session - We get together for the classroom portion of the training. This is where you get practical applications of the knowledge that the book taught you. You get stories relating to what divers should and shouldn't do. In short, the book teaches you what to do and not to do - we explain WHY you should and shouldn't do those things

Step 5 - Poolwork - We get together at a pool and teach you 21 skills that will serve as the basis for your Open Water Diver Training. Each skill builds upon the last and get you more and more comfortable in the water. We can use your pool, if you prefer, or one of our own. This takes around 4 hours, depending upon comfort level.

Step 6 - Open Water Dives - We will do 4 dives over 2 separate days at the lake. We prefer Lake Pleasant due to the higher visibility andeasy shore access. We do these over 2 days because on the 2nd day you will be significantly more relaxed and will retain more skills and have more time to work on your buoyancy and techniques.

What Will You Need?

Equipment - All you will need is your personal gear:

Fins, Mask, Snorkel, Dive Booties

We supply all other equipment with the exception of wetsuit rental (if required).
